The Problem

How do I prove that I am the author of an image? The usual methods for doing this are either cumbersome or expensive. Copyright registrations with a notary cost a lot of money, are time-consuming and usually expire after a certain time. This is where the Blockchain comes into play.

Why Blockchain?

You have probably already heard of the Blockchain. A Blockchain is simply a distributed database. It is protected against attackers such as hackers and cannot be manipulated. Thus, every certificate has a unique time stamp, which cannot be changed. By using this modern technology, no notary is necessary. The task of the notary to deliver a certified time stamp is solved by using Blockchain technology, which enables us to offer our certificate at this unbeatable price.

How does it work?

A hash algorithm is applied to the image you want to certify. A hash is something like a unique digital fingerprint. The same data always has the same hash, which can look like this: cjuZFfwqNyrdqnJedXTvL5Go3ll_1yrfu2mli3YKxOluU

If the data are only slightly modified, a completely new digital fingerprint is created.

You get a secret, which is something like a password that only you have. This secret is converted into a hash together with your picture and this hash is stored on the Blockchain. This means that no personal information about you is stored, only your digital fingerprint.

How do I verify my certificate?

To check the validity of your certificate, scan the QR code on your certificate. If the open link shows you “valid”, this means that there is a hash to this image on the Blockchain. In the step “further verification” it will be checked if it matches your picture and your secret. To do this, you upload your original file and enter the secret. Now it is checked if your digital fingerprint matches the one on the Blockchain. If it does, the certificate is fully verified.
